Meet the Squad,
Know the Mission.

TIFFANY AUSTIN
(Vocalist, Composer, Juris Doctor)

KENYA MOSES
(Vocalist, Business Coach, MBA)

Two vocalists/UC Berkeley educated overachievers got together to create a music series that is more than a music series. The Diaspora Sessions are a series of experiences that place Black art in Black contexts. It places Black artisans in the role of gatekeeping our own cultural creations, and creates vibes, rather than museum pieces—heralding the art and the people that created it.

Inspired by this vision, we named our August 2023 installment ‘The Sacred Turn Up’. It is a celebration of all that is considered sacred and secular in Black culture: from the gospel shout to the gold grill, from praise dancing to breakdancing and beyond. We seek to create a space that is alive with our culture, while supporting local artists in the areas of music, visual art, dance, spoken word, culinary arts, and more.

Vocalist, dancer and Haas MBA, Kenya Moses embodies the essence of Brazil's bossa nova in her warm and heartfelt sound. Born in the United States, yet connected to her Afro-Brazilian roots, Kenya fell in love with the sounds of Brazil after 15 years performing as a classical vocalist and flautist. Kenya's vocal resonance has allowed her the opportunity to perform throughout the Western and Eastern United States, in addition to Italy and France. With acclaimed musicians by her side, Kenya will release her first album of bossa nova duets in late 2023.

Vocalist, composer, educator and Berkeley Law JD Tiffany Austin’s life mission is the liberation of her people through music and cultural activation, as well as preserving (and discoursing in) Black musical traditions like classic swing, blues and soul. With a vocal style is inspired by artists like Aretha, Ella, Prince and Bjork, Tiffany has performed in Asia, Europe, Australasia, and throughout the United States She has also shared the stage with musical greats such as Pharoah Sanders, Roy Ayers, Doug Carn, and Cyrus Chestnut. Tiffany is curremtly Musical Director of the Healdsburg Jazz Festival Choir, and founder of the Con Alma Music Creative Intellect Scholarship.
